ATR rigging is a family-run business based in the coastal town of Hartlepool in the North East of England.
John spent his teenage years' scuba diving, sailing, and building boats, which led him to complete a joinery apprenticeship before spending several years working on various sites up and down the country. During this time, John spent all his free time exploring the oceans with thousands of miles on Grand Prix racing yachts and cruising yachts all over the UK and Europe.
All Things Rope was born in October 2014 after moving into a new home. Production started in a spare bedroom manufacturing dog leads using traditional and modern materials and techniques. All Things Rope soon became known for repeatedly producing quality products. We make over 10,000 splices yearly, sending our products to many countries worldwide. This quality was initially recognised in the pet industry but soon grew into marine and other commercial areas.
Early in 2022, it became apparent as the business was growing, and John and Kaitlyn needed to future-proof the company and rebrand to accommodate this growth.
We continue to strive to improve standards and provide our customers with the best materials and craftsmanship available today. We have created a beautiful balance to do this alongside promoting and protecting our oceans. With excellent processes in place, we aim to purchase ZERO single-use plastics and recycle any items we can.

Rigger and Splicing Guru
I first went to sea on a dive boat at two years old and have been passionate about exploring our oceans ever since. I spent most of my teenage year's scuba diving before discovering sailing and never looked back. About 20 years ago, I realised these pieces of rope we used to moor the boats could be used to create structural components. With more than 10,000 spices completed each year, I feel fortunate to have turned a passion into a career.

Kaitlyn
Administrator and Website Designers
I discovered my love of sailing and water sports at 11 and have always found great joy in them. With both John and I enjoying water sports at very young ages, we spend as much of our free time as we can encouraging our children to join us in sailing, canoeing, and exploring our local coastal areas. I now find myself working alongside John as an administrator and website designer.
